Eligibility

How it works

This offer is available to first-time customers and those renewing their TSA PreCheck membership. To begin, customers must obtain a verification letter confirming their military survivor family status from the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) or a TSA acknowledgment form. One of these documents is required to prove eligibility for the program.

To participate in the offer:

  1. Verify Your Eligibility.
    • Contact TAPS through their 24/7 National Military Survivor Helpline at 800-959-TAPS (8277) or 202-588-8277, or email them at info@taps.org.
    • Alternatively, reach out to the TSA Contact Center at 866-289-9673 or submit an inquiry at www.tsa.gov/email to request a TSA acknowledgement form.
  2. Pick your enrollment provider.
    • The process for getting the offer, the price, and the locations for enrolling vary by enrollment provider. Customers should determine with enrollment provider is best for them and start the process online by visiting their enrollment websites.

    1. Complete online renewal process and pay the renewal fee.
    2. Email your verification letter to CLEAR’s customer support to receive a full rebate.

    1. Before going to enrollment location, email your TAPS verification letter or TSA acknowledgement form to  IDEMIA’s customer support to receive an offer code.
    2. Bring your TSA PreCheck required documentation and offer code to your in-person appointment.

    Before renewing online, email your Known Traveler Number and verification letter to IDEMIA’s customer support to receive an offer code to use during checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Military survivor families are those whose loved one died while serving in the United States armed forces. These families include those who are eligible to receive the Gold Star lapel in accordance with Title 10 United States Code section 1126 or the Next of Kin Lapel Button which was established in 1977 (retroactive to March 28, 1973). In addition, TSA shall include families of those service members that have died from a service-connected injury or illness after separation.
