Fréderike Geerdink

Fréderike Geerdink is a freelance journalist and author who worked as a correspondent in Turkey and Kurdistan between 2006 and 2020. She was expelled from Turkey for her work on the Kurds. She wrote two books about the Kurdish issue, and spent a year embedded with the Kurdish armed movement for one of them. Now based in the Netherlands, she specializes in power structures and those who want to tear them down, and still travels to Kurdistan (in Iraq and Syria). She publishes in Dutch media, and in Newlines Magazine, Index on Censorship, The Conversationalist, and others. She tweets @fgeerdink.
