Dylan Dreyer’s city kids enjoyed their first Halloween outside the city, parading down leafy streets instead of zipping between apartment elevators.
The TODAY meteorologist and her sons Calvin, 8, Oliver, 5, and Rusty, 4, recently relocated from Manhattan to the suburbs, where they discovered that the festivities get underway much earlier.
“At 5:30 they were already tired,” Dylan said, recounting the evening with Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin on TODAY.
Calvin suited up as a New England Patriots football player (his dad, Brian Fichera, hails from Boston), while Oliver and Rusty transformed into Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles.

Once Rusty was done trick-or-treating, he volunteered to man the door, though generosity wasn’t exactly his strong suit.
Dylan laughed as she recalled how he stood there for two hours, passing out just a single piece of candy to kids.
“He would hand out just one Hershey’s Kiss,” Dylan said, noting that the kids on the receiving end were visibly disappointed, murmuring, “‘Aww, man.’”

Earlier this year, Dylan shared that leaving the Big Apple left her with mixed emotions.
“I’m so sad about it but also so ready at the same time!” Dylan told TODAY.com. “It was a love/hate relationship. I was mad everyday with so little space and the boys bothering each other at night: the wild running around but no space to do so. The boys definitely need more running room!”
For TODAY’s 2025 Halloween Extravaganza on Oct. 31, Dylan channeled Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons, sporting the singer’s iconic high-shine, slicked-back hair. She looked so spot-on that Oliver didn’t recognize his own mom!
Oliver may have been a little spooked, but Dylan says her whole family enjoys The Four Seasons. The three brothers had a blast watching her practice her “Walk Like a Man” performance for TODAY.
"My boys know all these songs," Dylan said. "They’re household songs at home.”
