David Hasselhoff kicked off his birthday weekend -- he's 54 today!!! -- by dropping by "The Tonight Show" on Friday and clearing the air about the shaving mishap that was so widely reported last month.
The Hoff explained that he was shaving in a hotel in London when he broke a lamp with his head and the lamp then fell down and sliced his wrist -- cutting four tendons and an artery.
