Barro Negro dubs itself Athens' first tequilaria, and is on a mission to correct all those common misconceptions about agave spirits. As you might expect, there's an extensive list of tequilas and mezcals, to be enjoyed neat or for mixing in a choice of Margaritas, from Tommy's to a smoky twist. It's worth noting that the bar was awarded the world's first 'Paloma Embassy' so this long, cool classic makes for a great place to start, especially paired with a plate of tacos or a zesty Mexican salad. There's also a choice of house cocktails on offer too, like the complex and savoury Los Abuelos, which mixes mezcal, blanco tequila, olive oil, lime, fennel and herbal liqueur.
