Danico
Paris
A Parisian bar taking you around the world menu by menu
Tucked away in Paris's historic Galerie Vivienne, Danico, a bar renowned for its stylish, conceptual drinks, is a testament to the globe-trotting vision of its owner, Nico de Soto. Located within the former flagship store of fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, the space is a study in chic design, blending bold colours and clean lines with the plush comfort of velvet and gold accents. Its discreet entrance, accessible through the bustling Italian restaurant Daroco, adds to the sense of discovery.
The creative heart of Danico lies in its constantly evolving cocktail programme, the Xplorer series. This concept, inspired by de Soto's extensive travels, takes guests on a journey to a new country with each new menu. The final instalment of this acclaimed five-menu series was a tribute to Peru, a nation known for its vibrant culinary landscape and rich cultural heritage. Developed by de Soto and his talented team, the cocktails celebrate Peruvian ingredients and traditions. The Leche de Tigre, a zesty and refreshing cocktail built around a ceviche distillate, aji amarillo and coconut is typical of the bar's approach. This dedication to unexpected flavours and advanced mixology techniques has solidified Danico's reputation as a leader in the international cocktail scene.
Now that the Xplorer series has reached its temporary end, Danico is looking inward with a 'special edition' focused on France, giving its largely international clientele a different take on the country's traditions.
