A hit to second base saw fellow superstar Mookie Betts pull off the easy double play to end the series and break Toronto hearts - who looked destined to win at the bottom of the seventh innings.

Rodriguez, who won a World Series himself with his hometown New York Yankees, and could not speak higher of what he saw throughout this series.

He said: "You can’t make it up. In my lifetime, this is the greatest World Series I’ve ever witnessed.

"Really, really remarkable. Obviously we’ll talk about the Blue Jays later, tremendous team, but this Dodgers team showed us what it is to be a champion."

The Dodgers offense struggled mightily throughout the game, which looked like it had been the Blue Jays' night after some impressive pitching.

Los Angeles put Ohtani on the mound, in the hopes it could give the offense the boost that they had needed.

Ohtani gave up a three-score home-run while looking demoralized before being pulled, with Yamamoto then coming on and pitching sensationally.
