New York Jets' stance on Breece Hall as trade deadline looms
Breece Hall played a crucial role as the New York Jets defeated the Cincinnati Bengals for their first win of 2025, but the running back could be traded before the deadline
The New York Jets will part with Breece Hall for at least a third-round pick as the NFL trade deadline looms.
The NFL trade deadline will be on Tuesday at 4pm (ET), with a number of moves expected. A total of 18 deals were made on the final day last season - including Davante Adams to the New York Jets and DeAndre Hopkins joining the Kansas City Chiefs.
While the Cleveland Browns will not shift Myles Garrett, the Jets could be enticed into dealing Hall. The 24-year-old running back has been one of the Jets’ most consistent performers on a struggling offense in 2025.
Hall played a crucial role in helping the Jets clinch a first win of the season, and a first win of the Aaron Glenn era. Against the Cincinnati Bengals, he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns as the Jets moved to 1-7.
Still, it seems as though the AFC East franchise could be sellers at the deadline. According to reports, the Jets are looking for at least a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft if they are going to let go of the dynamic playmaker.
Selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State, Hall has been one of the few bright spots on offense for the Jets in each of his four seasons. Hall broke out in 2023, going for 994 yards and tallying five touchdowns.
But the running back has failed to hit the heights of that season, nor has he been able to develop his game and break into that upper echelon of offensive stars in the league.
If the Jets continue to struggle, Glenn and the front office might start to sell off players to stockpile draft picks for a full rebuild next season.

Meanwhile, Hall will be eligible to receive a blockbuster contract come the end of the season. Any team interested in adding the running back must be prepared to pay him, too.
Given his ability with the ball in his hands, Hall would be an asset for any contending team. He is also a fine receiving back, which could add a new offensive layer to a contender.
While Hall’s talents will make teams interested, a third-round price tag might be too steep unless the team trading for him can sign the upcoming unrestricted free agent to an extension.
The Jets will remain available for talks until Tuesday, when the trade window closes.
The 1-7 Jets are on a bye and next in action against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Nov. 9.
