Melania Trump forced to sit down after shocking warning on Donald wedding day

Fomer First Lady Melania Trump's wedding day to President Donald Trump in 2005 was a lavish affair, but her extravagant dress came with some surprising consequences

Melania Trump, during her wedding to President Donald Trump, was reportedly compelled to sit due to her extravagant dress choice.

The then-fiancée of the New York billionaire, who was 34 at the time and had not yet revealed any political ambitions, tied the knot in 2005 after roughly six years of dating with one reported split. The third nuptials of the real estate mogul were set to be the most opulent, with a reception held at the family's Mar-a-Lago resort.

Melania's gown was a testament to the no-expense-spared nature of the event. It was so lavish that she could barely stand for the entire day. Her wedding attire was a white satin Christian Dior gown, crafted from 300 feet of fabric and adorned with 1,500 crystal rhinestones and pearls. It comes after the chilling reason Melania will never leave Donald was exposed by an ex-aide.

Estimated to have cost around $100,000, it was considered one of the priciest wedding dresses ever made, as per Vogue.

The wedding dress was reportedly escorted by four individuals from the House of Dior to the Palm Beach church to safeguard its 13-foot train and 16-foot veil, reports the Irish Star.

The Slovenian model was advised to eat well before the wedding, as she would need her strength to carry the dress throughout the day.

Vogue also noted that Melania sat on a bench during her wedding ceremony, rather than a chair, to accommodate the dress's volume.

Melania and Donald Trump's lavish wedding reception at Mar-a-Lago was a spectacle, complete with 10,000 flowers, Cristal champagne, and a star-studded guest list.

For her husband's second inauguration, Melania opted for an ensemble from lesser-known American designer Adam Lippes. She looked stunning in a dark blue, silk wool coat and skirt, paired with an ivory blouse and a statement hat.

Just a year after their nuptials, the couple welcomed their first child together, Barron, who was born on 20 March 2006.
