Netflix casts Adam Driver in tense new hostage drama from Adolescence creator
Adam Driver has signed up to star in a new Netflix series titled Rabbit, Rabbit, which will see him play an escaped convict who finds himself in a volatile hostage situation
Oscar-nominated actor Adam Driver has joined the cast of a new Netflix series, portraying an escaped prisoner caught in a dangerous hostage scenario. With limited options and mounting pressure, his character faces critical life-altering choices.
The show is called Rabbit, Rabbit, and will be helmed by Emmy Award-winning director Philip Barantini, recognized for his work on Adolescence. The synopsis reads: "When an escaped convict is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom.
"But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives - and an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator trained in tactical empathy." , reports the Express.
Driver is the first performer confirmed for the show, with additional production information still to be revealed.
The 41 year old American performer's breakthrough came in the HBO series Girls.
The hit show earned him three straight Primetime Emmy nods.
He achieved broader fame playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
Beyond his screen work, he served in the US Marine Corps and established Arts in the Armed Forces.
Rabbit, Rabbit isn't the actor's sole forthcoming venture, as he's currently involved in the movie Paper Tiger.
He's also shooting an untitled Chris Rock project, with no release date confirmed yet.
In terms of television, Rabbit, Rabbit signifies his first small-screen role since Girls, where he portrayed Adam Sackler.
The series concluded in 2017, with Driver only accepting voice acting roles thereafter.
Rabbit, Rabbit is set to air on Netflix.
