Project Runway returns with Heidi Klum and original judges but fans have same concern
Project Runway is coming back, and is having many beloved fans anticipating if the beloved co-host fashion mentor Tim Gunn will be returning for the upcoming season
Project Runway is coming back for a new season, but this time it will be without a beloved key figure.
Staple Project Runway judge Nina Garcia recently took to Instagram to share with TV fans that the fashion program was returning for another season. On her page, the Elle Editor-in-Chief shared a photo of herself with a Project Runway promo photo with show host model Heidi Klum front-and-center covering half of her face. “We are soooo back @heidiklum Excited to return to @projectrunway with the OG and my two favorites @csiriano and @luxurylaw,” Nina captioned her post.
“You KNOW it’s going to be a good season…so many surprises in store…” her caption continued.
Several expressed how stoked they were for Project Runway to be back in her comment section. However, many in Nina’s comment section continuously asked about iconic Project Runway’s on-air mentor Tim Gunn, and if he’d be returning in the new season also.
“What about Tim Gunn? I [heart emoji] Tim & Heidi [heart emoji] Make it work” one person exclaimed under Nina’s social media post.
“Heard that Tim Gunn wasn’t asked back. Not the same without him,” another shared. Meanwhile, one asked, “Where is Tim.”
Last month Tim revealed during an interview with People that several months ago Heidi texted him about the possibility of returning to Project Runway, which he hosted for 16 seasons before he left in 2018.
"Heidi sent me a text saying, 'There's talk about bringing Project Runway back with us, with you and me, and would you do it?' And I said, 'Would I do it? Of course, there's not a moment of hesitation in me,'" Tim divulged to the news outlet.
"So Heidi and I were texting and texting, and several months later, she sent me a text asking, 'Are you happy with your contract?' I'm a truth-teller. I don't even mince words. I said, 'Well, I haven't seen a contract,'" he continued.
"And she said, 'You haven't?' No. So I called my agent and he knew things were going on, but he contacted the executive producers of this new show, and they said, 'We don't want him.'
And [my agent] said, 'Well, he's done 19 seasons of [Project] Runway, 16 with Heidi. The two of them won an Emmy together as hosts, and now you're going to separate them?' And they said yes,” Tom added.
