Eugene Levy makes Prince William admission after spending day with future king
The Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy was left 'charmed' by Prince William after the future kign made a surprise appearance on the actor's Apple TV+ show The Reluctant Traveler
Prince William left Eugene Levy completely stunned after making a surprise appearance on the Canadian actor's travel show, with the royal making the star feel absolutely "charmed" by his down-to-earth nature.
The future king took the actor on a personal tour of Windsor Castle for the latest series of Apple TV+ show The Reluctant Traveler. Reflecting on his time with the Prince, Eugene gushed, "I was so impressed with the Prince of Wales. It was a charming few hours, that we had together.
"I don't know what I expected, you know, from a royal. The monarchy has always been so very formal, but with William, you didn't get that at all. He's a dad who goes to work and then comes home and you know has dinner with his kids." William shares three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - with his wife, Kate Middleton.
He added, "There's a normalcy to it that just surprised me, it took me aback actually a little bit. He was so down to earth, very funny, very bright. Got to be honest, he was fun to hang with."
The episode, titled Living The Royal Life In The UK, aired on Friday. The episode shows William greeting the actor at Windsor Castle while cruising up on an electric scooter. At one moment William says, "We provide this service for everyone. We do personalized tours everywhere."
Following a stroll through the castle's grand historical chambers, the duo venture outside with William's dog before making a pit stop at a neighborhood pub, reports the Express. When asked what he loves doing at home, William reveals, "Sleep. When you have three small children, sleep is an important part of my life."
In the video, William confesses that 2024 has been "the hardest year I've ever had." He further states, "Life is said to test us, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are."
Both William's father King Charles and his wife, Princess Kate, were diagnosed with cancer last year. While Charles continues his treatment, Kate finished a preventative chemotherapy course in September.
Speaking with remarkable openness about his family's health struggles, William acknowledges, "We've been very lucky, we hadn't had many illnesses in the family for a very long time. My grandparents lived until they were in the high 90s. So, they were the vision of fitness, and stoicism, and resilience if you like. So we've been very lucky as a family."
He subsequently mentions both King Charles' cancer diagnosis and his wife Kate's diagnosis. "But I think, when you suddenly realize that the rug, if you will, the metaphorical rug can be pulled from under your feet quite quickly at any point. You maybe think to yourself 'It won't happen to us, we'll be okay,'" he explains.
"Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you've got to be positive. But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not great places."
The filming for the Apple TV+ show took place in February this year, mere weeks after Kate announced her remission from cancer, which was diagnosed at the beginning of 2024. The fourth episode of The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy, titled Living the Royal Life in the UK, premiered on Friday, October 3, on Apple TV+.
