Josh Hartnett, who recently starred in the acclaimed thriller, Trap, has been hospitalized following a car crash with a Canadian police patrol vehicle.

The actor, and father of four, is best known for his work in Oppenheimer, Pearl Harbor, and Black Hawk Down. He will also be starring in the 2026 book-to-film adaptation of Coleen Hoover's Verity, alongside Dakota Johnson, who has already been seen filming the movie in New York City.

On September 25, the RNC shared a press release detailing that the crash involving the star occurred at approximately 1 a.m. local time. It said there was "significant damage to both of the vehicles," and that the passenger and driver of the SUV were sent to the hospital with "minor injuries." The police officer also went to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

A representative for Josh told Us Weekly that the 47-year-old was checked over and released from the hospital before returning to work.

It's reported that the actor is in the area as he is filming an unnamed Netflix project. According to IMDB, the series is currently known as "Untitled Netflix Newfoundland Series."

The untitled show will focus on a fisherman who fights to save his family and his local community after a sea creature terrorizes his town, according to its official synopsis.

In addition to Josh, the show will also star Charlie Heaton from Stranger Things and Mackenzie Davis from Speak No Evil.

Josh first found fame as Michael Fitzgerald in the TV series Cracker. He then featured in numerous projects such as Pearl Harbor and The Faculty before taking a prolonged break from acting.

Speaking to The Guardian about his decision to step back and swap Hollywood for a quieter life, he said, "People’s attention to me at the time was borderline unhealthy. I just didn’t want my life to be swallowed up by my work."

"There was a notion at that time, you just kind of give it all up. And you saw what happened to some people back then. They got obliterated by it. I didn’t want that for myself."

However, Josh returned to our screens in 2023 for Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and has featured in several movies since then, such as Trap, Fight or Flight, and the upcoming Verity.
