One Reddit user posted: "Dept. Q on Netflix. Please do yourself a favor and check this show out. Can't say enough about the writing, acting, plot and character development. Really hope this one gets renewed for a second season.", reports the Express.

Fans will be pleased to know that the show has indeed been renewed. It also stars Downton Abbey's Matthew Goode as Detective Carl Morck.

If you're not familiar, Dept. Q is a British crime thriller series created by Scott Frank and Chandni Lakhani.

It's based on the Department Q book series by Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen.

Despite landing on Netflix back in May, it's genuinely captivated numerous viewers. If you haven't caught it yet, this series is reportedly worth your time, as many have labeled it completely binge-worthy.

It essentially chronicles the journey of respected detective Carl Morck (Goode) as he makes his comeback to police work. He was recently involved in a shooting incident that left him with injuries.

His partner and buddy, James Hardy, was also left paralyzed during the devastating occurrence and a young uniformed officer lost their life. The show centers on how he attempts to work through his trauma while simultaneously trying to solve a cold case.

The series is loaded with unexpected developments and plot twists, delving into various themes along the way. It's a program that appears to have maintained viewers' attention since it dropped.

On social platforms, one viewer commented: "Finished it already, this show is the real deal."

Someone else noted: "Same creator of Godless and Queen's Gambit so you know it was going to be good. Scott Frank is easily [in the] top five greatest screenwriters of the last 30 years."

A third responded: "Finished it last night and was enamoured by it. Matthew is stellar as always, but Akram and Rose stole the show for me. The dynamic between the three of them is so, so good."

Meanwhile, a fourth remarked: "Was going to recommend this one! Great characters, plot line and edge of your seat cliffhangers."

Someone else also chimed in with: "This show was unexpectedly incredible. The bread crumbs on the twists are great, the acting is superb and Akram is my new favourite character in anything."

Others also deemed the series "amazing", while many were quick to praise Akram's character. Some also added that the books are equally as gripping.
