Ariana Grande and Josh Gad will be the voices in a new Dr. Seuss film, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 15, on Instagram with a carousel of pictures showing the two in the studio and two separate binders with their names on them. Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, a children's book, was published in 1990 and is one of Dr. Seuss’ most loved books yet.
The movie adaption will be directed by none other than Jon M. Chu, who recently directed Wicked. Jill Culton will also be working alongside Jon as the co-director of the film, which slated for release in IMAX on March 17, 2028.
According to Deadline, Rob Lieber adapted the script from Dr. Seuss’ final book, with Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Gregg Taylor joining the crew as producers. La La Land’s Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are in charge of creating original songs for the adaptation.
Ariana quickly shared the news on her Instagram Story and wrote, "i love this book, i love this script, i love the beautiful world of @drseuss i love this incredible group of creative human beings @joshgad what a brilliant joy you are) i am so thrilled to be a part of this one ... it is vwey speaxial! what a dream, thank you @warnerbros and of course ... @jonmchu."
Warner Bros broke the new on social media with the caption, @arianagrande & @joshgad - Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Directed by @jonmchu, with original songs by @PasekandPaul. Coming to IMAX in 2028."
Fans quickly reacted to the news with nothing but positivity but which they did not have to wait until 2028 for the release.
One person commented under the Warner Bros post, "this is soooo coool !!! we truly cannot waittt." Another person commented, "I gagged when I saw 2028 [melting face emoji] but can’t wait to seee [red heart emoji]."
A third person wrote, "MY PRINCESS IS IN THE BEST DR SEUSS BOOK OF ALL TIME I KNOW THATS RIGHT." A fourth wrote, "Making my favorite dr Seuss book into a movie with my fav musical director with my fav popstar and my Glinda is absolutely insane work."
Ariana is coming off her first Oscar nomination for her role as Glinda in the Jon-directed musical Wicked. Fans will soon see her reprise the role in sequel Wicked: For Good, out November 21. She has been keeping busy as she was casted for the next installment of the Meet the Parents franchise opposite Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.
Josh has also kept busy with some upcoming projects including, Amazon’s Spaceballs sequel, in which he produces and also stars in, as well as Paramount’s Adulthood and Disney’s Frozen 3.
