UniProtKB description: Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed not to be involved in catalysis (PubMed:36622099, PubMed:36952377). Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain (By similarity). The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone (By similarity). Required for the maintenance of muscle integrity and for cell proliferation in the wing imaginal disc epithelium, possibly by interacting with the chaperone-assisted selective autophagy (CASA) pathway (PubMed:36968202).
