Brussels Playbook Podcast to launch in expansion of POLITICO’s audio slate
- Daily morning show extends most influential EU briefing into audio from February 10
February 3, 2026
Brussels, Belgium – POLITICO is launching the Brussels Playbook Podcast, a daily show debuting on February 10 that brings its leading coverage of European politics into the audio space.
Built on the strength of the Brussels Playbook newsletter, which has shaped the European political day for more than a decade, the show reinforces POLITICO’s centrality to European and global political conversation.
Chief EU Correspondent Zoya Sheftalovich will host the new podcast, which will air in line with Brussels Playbook at 7am CET and deliver everything listeners need to know to start their day about what’s moving Brussels and why it matters, in 15 minutes or less.
The Brussels Playbook Podcast marks the latest expansion of POLITICO’s audio output and its Playbook franchise, the most successful newsletter in political journalism, into a cross-platform product.
Designed to fit into listeners’ daily routines, it joins POLITICO’s growing slate of morning audio editions established in the United States, Canada, and Germany, alongside the award-winning Politics and Sam and Anne’s, produced in partnership with Sky News in the U.K.
Together with POLITICO’s EU Confidential, the top European politics podcast from Brussels and around the continent and already an established fixture in the Brussels media ecosystem, the two shows will live on the same podcast feed, combining interviews, reporting and insight from across POLITICO’s newsroom into a comprehensive daily audio offering.
“Playbook has always been about setting the agenda in national capitals,” said Sheftalovich. “This podcast brings listeners inside how power moves each morning, giving you the best from our newsroom on who and what is shaping the Brussels Bubble and how it touches your world. I can’t wait to get started.”
“Zoya’s energy and enthusiasm are better than ten cups of coffee,” said Carrie Budoff Brown, POLITICO’s Executive Editor and Executive Vice President in Brussels. “Brussels relies on Playbook to help make sense of the day ahead, and we’ve heard clearly from our audience that they want that in formats that fit their mornings. Extending Brussels Playbook into audio allows us to meet them wherever and however they start their day, with the reporting and perspective they need to get ahead.”
The Brussels Playbook Podcast will be available across major podcast platforms.
