The Life and Art of Halil Paşa
March 5 - August 23, 2026
By the Water: The Life and Art of Halil Paşa focuses on the life and artistic production of Halil Paşa, a key figure in the transformation of painting from the Ottoman Empire to the early Republican period. A military-trained painter, Halil Paşa brought together academic discipline and impressionist sensibility, playing a pioneering role in the emergence of the open-air painting tradition in Türkiye. The exhibition offers an in-depth exploration of the artist’s life and work, from lesser-known biographical details and his artistic education to his understanding of light and colour, his drawings, mastery of landscape and portrait painting, and his production across different geographies.
Ambassador Portraits and Art Patronage of Ambassadors from
the 17th to the 19th Century
Tracing the diplomatic contacts between the Ottoman Empire and Europe, the exhibition examines cross-cultural encounters through ambassadorial portraits and commissioned paintings. The ambassadors’ relationship with art reflects the political and social atmosphere of the period.

The Story of Inspiration and Innovation in Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics
The exhibition Extraordinary Minas, presenting objects from Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics Collection, examines the efforts of Kütahya masters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to revive the disappearing craftsmanship of tile-making by focusing on a master and a group of his work. The exhibition explores the concepts of the master-apprentice relationship, tradition and innovation, and mass production versus craft through Minas Avramidis of Kütahya and his ceramic plate series illustrating the Genovefa Story.
