Saluan is a member of the Saluan-Banggai group of Celebic languages, which are part of the Malayo-Polynesian language family. It is spoken by about 76,000 people in the east of Sulawesi in Indonesia. In particular, it is spoken the towns of Luwuk and Balantak and in nearby areas of Banggai Regency in Central Sulawesi Province.
Saluan is also known as Loindang, Madi, Mondaono or Loinang ("Mountain people"). It is written with the Latin script, and a Saluan dictionary app was launched in 2018.

Once upon a time, there were two young men who were very close friends. The two young men are I Geo and I Hodi. They both do not have permanent jobs. Sometimes they go looking for wood in the forest to sell or go fishing. The work carried out by these two youths is solely for fulfilling daily needs.
