West of Farewell Spit to Hawera: Long period southwest swell rising to 3 metres for a time. Southeast swell 2 metres developing. Elsewhere: Westerly swell 1 metre. Fair visibility in showers.

Tuesday: Southerly 25 knots but 35 knots east of Stephens Island to Cape Egmont, becoming southerly 15 knots but southeast 25 knots in the east in the afternoon. Very rough sea in the east, easing. Moderate southwest and southeast swells, easing.
Wednesday: Becoming southeast 15 knots everywhere early, turning southwest 10 knots in the morning. Rough sea in the east easing.
