Taylor Swift liked a social media video of Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones singing her new song, "The Fate of Ophelia."
Newsweek reached out to Jones via the Chiefs' press email for comment on Friday.
Why It Matters
Swift—who is engaged to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce—dropped her highly anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3. Since then, "The Fate of Ophelia," which is its lead single, has sparked a social media trend, with many people posting videos of themselves imitating the pop star. Swift's fiancé even celebrated his 100th touchdown with the dance on October 27, and the song's corresponding music video currently has over 92.2 million views.
What To Know
On Thursday, Jones played "The Fate of Ophelia" while walking into his news conference on Thursday. As the tune rang out on his phone, the 31-year-old began singing the lyrics: "On the land, the sea, the sky."
In a video posted to TikTok by @musicsociety, Jones—who is a friend of Kelce's—then turned his attention to the reporters.
"How y'all doing?" he asked them, before cranking the volume louder and bopping his head.
After watching the clip, Swift clicked the heart button.
At the time of publication, @musicsociety's post has racked up more than 265,700 views and over 45,600 likes.

The singer's social media engagement has ramped up recently following a brief hiatus from the spotlight after wrapping up her record-breaking Eras Tour. Within the last day, the 14-time Grammy Award winner also liked a TikTok video posted by @dancefactoryfitness of young girls dancing to "The Fate of Ophelia" at what appeared to be a wedding.
What People Are Saying
Musician Trapp Tarell shared his reaction to "The Fate of Ophelia" music video on his YouTube channel: "This video overall was really good. Really good. The production, the dancing, even the topic, bro."
Kelce praised Swift while co-hosting his New Heights podcast alongside his brother, Jason Kelce: "Let's just give it up for Taylor real quick. She's done it again. She's put the world on tilt. It's been so fun to see everybody's reactions, and we've had an absolute blast watching her go through all of her press tour—radios and talk shows. She's looked amazing, sounded amazing and this album is absolutely amazing. If you haven't heard it yet, please go check out The Life of a Showgirl."
