CENTRE MEETS STRONG W. & L. TEAM Three Nabbed In Robbery Of Hardware Store Confessions Of Two Aid | In Clearing Up Chesnut-Salter Theft. WILL BE ARRAIGNED Second Important. Arrests In Two Days By Work Of Policemen. Three men were in the Boyle County jail today, awaiting arraignment on charges of robbery in connection with the looting of the Chesnut-salter Hardware Store here several weeks ago of approximately $1,000 in merchandise. Resting behind the bars were Hollis Gordon, Mike Grey and Fuzzy Hahn, all Danvillians, as the result of confessions on behalf of Gordon and Hahn. They will be taken before Judge W. Logan Wood soon and arraigned. Practically all of the loot was recovered following the robbery and where the remainder lies, consisting of a lot of watches, / rings and other such valuables, , will probably be told by the jail-, ed men. The inspector said he was "fully convinced" - that Central hospital could not be "placed upon as sound operating basis" as the other state hospitals "with the personnel and the political manipulators who are trying to use it as a house of refuge for their henchmen." By Ralph Guffey The Danville Admirals smashed their way to a 25 to 0 victory over the Bardstown Bulldogs yesterday afternoon before a crowd of approximately 600 fans at Bardstown. Although Bardstown made several threats, they did not have the extra stamina to score. The Admirals played a slow and ragged game of ball and did not show the power which they have shown in the past games. In Bardstown, the Mountjoymen met just about as much determination and grit as the name, Bulldogs, indicates. The Bull dogs were rated as having a larggr team than the Admirals before the tussle but as the Admirals took the field, there was not much difference in the weights of the two teams. The Admirals, after maneuvering about the field the majority of the first quarter, finally got their scoring guns into place, and Love plowed through the Purple marker. Teams Evenly Matched In Weight; Generals Are Favored To Win Game Kentucky. Since the Government had decided to practically shift all of • the Relief work from the NRA to the Public Works Administration, there will be much work for the local committee to handle. It is known that President Roosevelt wants every able bodied man taken off of the relief status and placed on active work and this will change matters materially. It is believed that the local committee will bring back a great deal of information that wi'l be valuable to those who have signed up at the court house for work. It looks like all will soon have all of the work that they can do and that they will be paid cash for their services, and the smallest sum will be 30 cents per hour, while many will get a larger allowance per hour. As the two teams met, Washington & Lee held a big edge, and ruled 2 to 1 favorites to win the game, but the Colonels were imbued with the undying Centre spirit and were primed to go and give their all in a test that is watched thruout Kentucky. Although Washington & Lee was from the Virginia Mountains it was a Kentucky game since five Kentuckians were included in the probable General starting lineup and the majority of Centre's squad is composed of lads from the dark and bloody ground. Only eight-elevenths of a pound divided the two grid machines in weight, about enough to offset the tenth of a price of a dozen eggs in Russia, and in this respect it was Centre with the heaviest line and Washington & Lee with the heaviest backfield.
