Frick Dooms Town House Despite the Landmarks Preservation Commission's wish to declare the block from Fifth Ave. to Madison Ave. on 70th St. a landmark, the Frick Collection, which is housed on that block, has taken steps to demolish the vacant Louis XV town house, a spokesman for the commission announced last night. The town house is adjacent to the Frick building. "We have found out that the Frick plans the immediate demolition of the fine old town house at 5 E. 70th St., and we think this is tragic, very unfortunate and very unwise," said Frank B. Gilbert, executive secretary of the landmarks commission.
