Los Angeles, do you copy?

On Sunday, November 23, fans are invited to join the Netflix x CicLAvia—Melrose Ave: Stranger Things 5 One Last Ride – an epic event bringing fans together to bike, skate, or stroll along a car-free stretch of Melrose Ave in celebration of the cultural phenomenon’s fifth and final season.

For one day only, fans will step into the world of Stranger Things with immersive photo ops, pedal-powered activations, live entertainment, merch, giveaways, and an exclusive content drop - all taking place just days before Volume 1 hits Netflix on November 26th at 5pm PT.

We’re going full 1980s, and you’re invited to join the fun: show up as your favorite Hawkins character or monster of the Upside Down, or channel peak ‘80s vibes with neon, leg warmers, windbreakers, or any retro fit.

If that’s not enough for you, fans can also choose to take part in a special quest along the route. Rack up pins by completing various activities on our quest map to unlock additional surprises.

The event is open to all and no RSVP will be needed. Just grab your bike, board, skates, sneakers… even your stroller, and head on out to Melrose Avenue for a day of fun, community, and adventure.

FAQ

No, it’s not a race, marathon or bike-only event. All forms of people-powered mobility are welcome (see the full list here).  Participants can enter and exit the route at any point and time. Want to ride the whole 4-mile stretch? Go for it! Want to walk around for a few blocks? That’s cool too. Just be on the lookout for demogorgons on the loose…

The quest is an optional way for fans  to go deeper into the experience – by participating in  fun and easy activities along the route to uncover a few surprises. Head to any of the hubs to pick up your quest book, which includes a map and instructions for things to do and see (trivia stops, special offers at local businesses, photo ops, and more!) You never know what you might discover.

Absolutely! While biking may be the Hawkins crew preferred method of transportation, you are welcome to experience the day your own way - whether that’s walking, jogging, biking, skateboarding, roller skating, or simply spectating. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Rental bikes are available on a first-come, first-served basis on event day. You have two options: Advanced reservations are available with Unlimited Biking, or Metro Bike Share will be available at pop-up stations on event day. Check here for more details starting Nov 12.

Yes. All ages and abilities are welcome to attend.

The event is free and open to the public, no RSVP required.

Water stations are available at each hub (bring your refillable water bottles!), and there may be limited sampling/giveaways while supplies last. All other food and shopping is for purchase along the route. The businesses appreciate your patronage!

The event takes place along Melrose Ave between Vermont and Fairfax, which will be closed down to vehicles. Plan to park on side streets (being mindful of parking signs), public parking lots, or use public transit or a rideshare service.

Hubs are areas where you can engage with local vendors, partners, and purchase official Netflix x CicLAvia merch. You can also enjoy Stranger Things themed photo ops, activities, and get more information on the quest, including your quest card/quest card pins.

All hubs are “dismount zones” where you will be asked to get off your bike or board so that you can safely engage with the activations in the space. Basic services like bike self-parking, bike repair, medics, water refill, and restrooms are available.

Hubs are located at:

  • Vermont Hub - Melrose Ave bw Vermont and Berendo
  • Melrose Hub - Melrose Ave bw Plymouth and Windsor
  • Fairfax Hub - Melrose Ave bw Genesee and Fairfax

We’ll have a stage at the Fairfax Hub (on the corner of Melrose Ave and Fairfax Ave) with entertainment and programming running from 9am-3pm PT, including trivia, fan games, music, giveaways, and content.

Yes, bike parking is available first-come, first-served at all the hubs along the route.

The event runs from 9am to 3pm PT. Come at any time.

The event is fully outdoors and takes place rain or shine.

80s retro outfits and character cosplay are strongly encouraged! We even recommend you deck out your bike or board.

Anyone under 18 must wear a helmet if they are on a bike, skateboard, scooter, skates, or a passenger in a child seat. We recommend everyone wear one, they didn’t know better in the 80s.

Does Eleven have special powers? Yes! Go ahead and take pictures, post and tag @StrangerThingsTV, @StrangerThings.Experience, and @cicLAvia.

CicLAvia is a non-profit working with communities across LA County to open streets for a day. They transform LA streets into car-free areas so that the community can safely bike, skate, run, and play. Head to ciclavia.org to learn more.
