Physical:100, it’s your time: From the creators of the reality series in which 100 athletes compete in various challenges to become the GOAT comes a new fitness competition in which individual glory is swapped for team gold. Much like the Olympics, Physical: Asia features several teams representing different countries across the continent and beyond — from which only one country will emerge victorious.
The series features world-class athletes including Manny Pacquiao, Yushin Okami, Kim Dong-hyun, Superbon, and Robert Whittaker, who each captain their respective country’s team. In addition to the elite combo of world champions, former Olympians, and combat sport icons, Physical: 100 Season 1 fan fave Yun Sung-bin and Season 2 winner Amotti are back in the mix. With ₩1 billion Korean won (around $700,000) on the line, which country will conquer all?

When decorated athletes gather to defend their country’s honor in the ultimate test of physical prowess, nothing short of the most brutal battles in Physical history will reveal a winner. In each episode, sports stars representing Korea, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Mongolia, Turkey, and Australia compete in various quests, including a king of the mountain–style challenge set on an ever-shifting sand dune, a challenge of procuring precious supplies off a sinking shipwreck, and death match–style eliminations. If even only one of their compatriots falls, the whole country’s team will be eliminated.
“At its heart, the Physical series is about raw competition that transcends disciplines and generations,” producer Jang Ho-gi told The National. “By bringing national pride into the equation, the battles will be more intense, more emotional, and more unforgettable than ever.” As grudges are born and alliances are made, which country will rise to become the first ever champion of Physical: Asia?

Physical: Asia takes place on a specially built soundstage in Korea where multiple quest sets were constructed — among them, a half-sunken shipwreck, a centuries-old haunted Korean village, and a partial replica of Gyeongbokgung, the country’s former royal palace.
“We built the set across an area the size of five soccer fields, using 1,200 metric tons of sand and 40 metric tons of steel,” Ho-gi told Netflix. “Our goal was to harmonize the diverse histories and cultures of Korea and Asia.”
Ho-gi went on to describe how every minute detail of the series — from the royal celestial motifs on set, to traditional Korean instruments used for the score — tied back to “the search for a new sovereign of the Physical series.”
