Strictly Come Dancing fans were left stunned after the latest celebrity to be voted off. The leaderboard was flipped on its head as the public voted for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Lauren Oakley and Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzman to face the dance off.

And it was sadness for Jimmy and Lauren, as the devastated pair were shown the exit on Icons Week. Despite the public's low votes for the couple, it didn't stop fans online for being gobsmacked at the decision.

One user on X, formerly known as Twitter said: "Jimmy is what Strictly is meant to be about, a celebrity with little or no professional dancing living in the moment and enjoying the competition Such a shame Jimmy & Lauren were eliminated this early as they were so good."

Last night's live show marked the first time Tess and Claudia have returned to the ballroom since the shock news that they had decided to step down as show hosts at the end of this series. The pair, who have decided to “pass on the sparkly baton”, have been fronting the programme together for 14 years – while Tess has been hosting since the show’s conception 21 years ago, as she first presented alongside Sir Bruce Forsyth, before Claudia filled his shoes in 2014.

Jimmy's touching message after devastating exit

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink shared an emotional message in the immediate aftermath of his Strictly exit.

The former footballer took to social media to share his touching words and reveal he had been suffering from illness shortly before this week's performance.

He also confessed to being "honestly so proud of what Lauren and I managed to achieve".

Amber breaks silence after tense dance-off

Despite West End star Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin being joint second on the leaderboard with 33 points, they faced a dance-off to save their spot in Strictly.

Thankfully for the pair, the judges opted to send Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Lauren Oakley packing instead. And Amber has had her say on the tense moment.

On Instagram, Amber called it a "gut wrenching evening in the dance off".

She also told her fans: "If you voted for us really really thank you, I guess this week we aim for a come back week?! @nikita__kuzmin thank you for holding my extremely shaky hands extra tight."

In a touching speech after being voted off, Jimmy said he never expected to enjoy the show so much.

“I can only say thank you very much for letting me have this experience and to my daughters for pushing me to come here and do this. I never expected that I would enjoy it this much. The people behind the scenes, from the wardrobe people to the hairdressers to the make-up people, are absolutely magnificent – thank you very much.

He also had a sweet message for Lauren: "This experience is going to live with me forever. Most importantly, [to Lauren] this girl, she is just absolutely incredible. She has been absolutely amazing with me. You are a diamond,” he told her.
