Steven Knight unveils 'it's brilliant' as he gives huge update on Peaky Blinders movie

EXCLUSIVE: Steven Knight spoke out at a special screening for House of Guinness

House of Guinness launches on Netflix on September 25 and the period drama comes from the mind behind Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight.

The show chronicles the real-life tale of the Guinness dynasty and how four brothers and sisters gave up everything to preserve their deceased father's remarkable legacy.

With House of Guinness set to debut on the streaming platform, Knight has also provided a tantalising glimpse into another massive venture - the eagerly awaited Peaky Blinders film.

In an exclusive chat with Reach publications, he disclosed: "The movie is done, so that's in the can. So that's going to be next year, it's going to be great.

"It is set in World War Two, it's brilliant, it's great. It's got Barry Keoghan who is wonderful, and Cillian (Murphy), and Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth and it is immense."

Called The Immortal Man, the picture will serve as a follow-up to the beloved programme which spanned six series until 2022.

When asked if he believed House of Guinness would match Peaky Blinders' triumph, he continued: "I think it's got the same buzz as Peaky.

"It has happened more quickly than Peaky, but it's got the same feel.

"I'm very optimistic that it's going to have the same international appeal that Peaky did."

In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Tommy Shelby star Murphy revealed he'd be prepared to return to the character "if there's more story there".

"But it has to be right," he added. "Steve Knight wrote 36 hours of television, and we left on such a high.

"I'm really proud of that last series. So, it would have to feel legitimate and justified to do more."

The film is also expected to see the return of Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck.

Filming wrapped in December and it took place in St Helens, Merseyside.
