MAFS icon Emma Barnes: 'Couple swaps and stars returning loom but can they stay away'
'I’m glad the spoilers have been kept under wraps because it’s keeping us guessing, but can’t the villains just play happy families and leave when their time is up?!'
Another week of turmoil, arguments and break ups on MAFS UK, and I’m here to add my thoughts on a week where Maeve took the single seat to the retreat, we finally saw the end of Julia-Ruth and Divarni’s tumultuous marriage, and I, bear with me, warmed to Reiss.
I needed a reflection time after the wild dinner party on Sunday so settled into Lucinda Light’s MAFS: It’s Official podcast with Reiss being the guest of the week.
Three single ladies in their thirties swooned for twenty minutes and he not only held himself well, we saw a bit of personality away from Zoolander pouts and it was really funny.
I’m not suggesting him and Leisha will Salsa into the sunset together forever, or that he’s the sharpest tool in the shed, but I had an inkling to what she’s seeing in him.
He’s also made some cookies for Leigh in the preview for wife swap week and I’m BEGGING for another Malt Loaf meme.
I bawled seeing Maeve have another couch on her own and leaving in last night’s commitment ceremony.
Maeve and Joe had in my eyes the worst experience you can have on MAFS: A huge spark on the wedding day, plain sailing for weeks as the strongest couple, and having your heart broken for the nation to watch.
Joe’s avoidant nature when conflict arises is cowardice and lovely Maeve deserves better. But what made me tear up was hers (and Divarni’s) leaving speeches for the group.
You simply would not get through this experiment without the crazy collection of characters. I hope Maeve feels on top of the world leaving without a husband but with this group of pals behind her every step of the way.
A hint on Julia-Ruth’s Instagram points to a return and some swapping, and I’m not into it. I’m sure this is rage bait. Can Julia Ruth come back with her head held high arm in arm with Joe? Or Stephen?
I’m glad the spoilers have been kept under wraps because it’s keeping us guessing, but can’t the villains just play happy families and leave when their time is up?!
I’m ending on a good note because I’m a bit over the arguments, name calling and speech performances, hopefully we’ll just have some funny tv with wife swap week ahead.
We’ve got some really strong couples that could make a success of this show, Abigail and John may be the most perfect couple to ever enter this experiment, Bec and Bailey are getting cuter by the week, and Keye and Davide are making my ovaries hurt. Surely a little switcharound won’t hurt any of them…
