ITV Trigger Point cast list in full as Mark Rowley and Jason Flemyng join line-up

The Last Kingdom's Mark Rowley joins Trigger Point as Rich Manning alongside Boiling Point's Jason Flemyng in the role of Steven Wyles for series three

Trigger Point is returning to ITV for season three and viewers of the explosive drama are keen to know who will be reprising their roles for the new series. Trigger Point follows Lana Washington, played by Line of Duty's Vicky McClure and her team of bomb disposal officers, known as expos.

The team dedicate themselves to keeping the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats. There have already been some big casualties in Trigger Point, with Lana losing colleague Joel Nutkins, played by Adrian Lester, in series one and love intestest DCI Thom Youngblood, played by Mark Stanley, in series two.

As such there will be some new faces joining the line-up for season three, with the expo team welcoming charismatic new colleague Rich Manning, played by Mark Rowley, onboard. Also joining the cast this year is Jason Flemyng, in the role of Steven Wyles, a "working-class lad, who just decides that the world has let him down."

Alongside Vicky, returning cast members include Eric Shango (On The Edge), Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights, Unforgotten), Natalie Simpson (North Sea Connection) and Maanuv Thiara (DI Ray, Landscapers). Here's everything you need to know about the Trigger Point series three cast.

Vicky McClure as Lana

Vicky will be reprising her role as Lana Washington. She has been through the ringer throughout season one and two and is having a tough time at the start of series three, dealing with PTSD as well as living with tinnitus.

Viewers will recognise Vicky from Line of Duty, in which she played Detective Inspector Kate Fleming, and for her role as Lol Jenkins in Shane Meadows’s This Is England (2006) and its sequels (This Is England ’86, ’88, ’90). She has also starred as Karen White in Broadchurch and recently portrayed Mrs. Jones in Alex Rider.

Eric Shango as Danny

Series two ended with Lana attending Danny's wedding and things have changed for Danny at the start of season three.

Eric said of his character: "Danny has just got married so now his focus has shifted – he’s no longer thinking exclusively about his own wellbeing, instead he’s thinking about his wife and how his job could affect her. Essentially he’s beginning to question whether this line of work is actually something he should still be doing, rather than just something he wants to do."

Eric has had roles in On The Edge and Suspicion.

Nabil Elouahabi as Hass

Nabil returns as Hass. Talking about where viewers will find his character in series three, Nabil said: "He's very much side by side with Lana. Hass has evolved into almost an older uncle figure, he’s kind of the wise guy now and there are some lovely interactions between Hass and Wash. He is concerned about her wellbeing, but he knows that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so he’s very gentle with it, and is just consistently present for her."

Nabil is best known for his role as Tariq on EastEnders but since leaving the soap has starred in many television series, including Top Boy, His Dark Materials, Our Girl, Unforgotten, and Blue Lights among many more.

Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan

In series two Helen lost her colleague and boyfriend Thom and viewers will find her putting on a strong front at the start of the new season. Natalie said of her character: "There’s a concoction of emotions for Helen. Obviously she still feels grief fir Thom, but it’s more than that.

"She was only with him for a few months, but everything became quite messy at work as a result of that relationship, it became very difficult for her to navigate. Then there was her suspicion about what was going on with Thom and Lana. So I think she now feels quite embarrassed and perhaps a bit helpless."

Viewers will recognise Natalie from Outlander, North Sea Connection and Les Misérables

Maanuv Thiara as DI Amar Batra

In series three, Batra has had a promotion, speaking of where we find his character, Maanuv said: "It's quite exciting, Batra has had a promotion – he was previously a DI, but Francis left, so he has been promoted to DCI and he's very much heading up this operation.

"He’s a very good detective because he’s a details guy, but he’s not used to being in charge, and he's not necessarily equipped to come head-to-head with such a strong personality as Lana."

Maanuv is an actor known for starring in DI Ray, Prime Target, Landscapers and Line of Duty.

Mark Rowley as Rich Manning

Mark's character Rich Manning is new to Trigger Point. He has been described as a "charismatic new colleague," who brings some much needed lightness to the expo team.

Viewers will recognise Mark as Finan in the hugely popular Netflix series, The Last Kingdom. He also starred as Jock McDiarmid in SAS Rogue Heroes and had roles in One Day and The Eye.

Jason Flemyng as Steven Wyles

Jason joins the cast as a guest star for series three. Describing his character, Jason said: "He’s a union boy, a working-class lad, who just decides that the world has let him down. Corporate greed and capitalism have thrown him into touch, and instead of just rolling over or disappearing like most people have to, he decides to reap his revenge and take control.

"In his eyes certain people should be in prison. Good people do bad things, and that’s what we see with him. So he's a sort of cross between Hannibal Lecter and Che Guevara!"

Jason has had many big roles including starring in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Layer Cake, Kick-Ass, and X-Men: First Class. As well as Boiling Point, Pennyworth, Save Me and Jamestown among many more.
