I helped create Claudia Winkleman's look for The Traitors - everyone asks the same question

Stylist Sinead McKeefry has lifted the lid on what it’s like dressing Claudia Winkleman for The Celebrity Traitors and revealed why she avoids learning show spoilers

Stylist Sinead McKeefry, who has collaborated with The Celebrity Traitors host Claudia Winkleman for nearly two decades, reveals she's constantly questioned about her involvement with the nation's most discussed television programme.

Despite completing her duties on the twisted, drama-filled series months earlier and currently managing Claudia's costume choices for Strictly Come Dancing, members of the public continue to quiz Sinead about Celebrity Traitors.

She's confessed that she wouldn't be able to stop herself from revealing spoilers about the programme if she knew what lay ahead, so she deliberately requested not to be informed about the victor's identity.

She revealed to Hello! magazine: "I'm walking down the road and everyone's going: 'Oh my god, Traitors! Do you know who wins?' and I'm like: 'No!'."

"I ask not to be told, because I can't keep a secret. So just don't tell me. It also means I can enjoy watching it."

The only thing Sinead can predict is Claudia's outfit choices. The famously fringed host's widely copied "Highland goth" appearance for the programme drew inspiration from various sources that Sinead and Claudia compiled before recording began.

She revealed: "My moodboards then were still full of the same things they are now, but a little bit safer: Bruce Weber and Amanda Harlech references, lots of Chanel and lots of early 2000s fashion shoots from The Face and i-D magazines."

She mentioned that she also drew influence from a Scottish fashion brand called Le Kilt — "I found their aesthetic really appealing," she says.

Since the programme's debut series, Sinead revealed to Grazia that numerous pals working in upmarket boutiques have reported shoppers arriving and requesting "the Claudia in The Traitors look," noting that "my friends in the fashion crowd have been loving it, too."

Though widely coveted, Claudia's Celebrity Traitors appearance proves tricky to replicate.

The white frilled-collar blue frock she sported during one episode last week seems to be an Alexander McQueen creation priced at £1,330, while her go-to Bottega Veneta boots will cost you upwards of £1,000.

Sinead also collaborates with Billie Piper and Fearne Cotton, and it was actually presenter and podcaster Fearne who initially connected Sinead with Claudia.

"We just clicked instantly," she explained to Country and Town House.

"Claudia has a really good sense of style and a natural interest in fashion. She's forever sending me things on Instagram."

You can catch Celebrity Traitors on BBC One and iPlayer on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9pm.
