Coronation Street lines up drama-filled and 'classic soap' style episode for Eva return

Coronation Street favourite Eva Price makes her long-awaited comeback on the ITV soap on Monday joined by the Driscolls, and the episode is full of drama, fun, twists and classic soap scenes

Viewers of Coronation Street have an epic episode on the way, as Catherine Tyldesley reprises her role as Eva Price on Monday night.

Scenes airing on the ITV soap see Eva head back to the Cobbles with daughter Susie, joined by new family the Driscolls. The family consists of Eva's husband Ben, his two sons Ollie and Will and his mother Maggie.

With Ollie's identity revealed in the episode after him failing to mention to partner Dee-Dee Bailey, or others, that he was linked to Eva, this isn't the only twist unfolding. We've got surprises, reunions, discoveries and even a proposal.

"It's certainly an action-packed episode," our soap source teased. "It almost feels longer than an hour, in a good way, but it's perfectly set up and gets the best out of Eva and the new family.

"Little Susie is one to watch out for, and the whole family bring humour, drama and some classic soap scenes. It's really exciting, and I reckon fans will love it."

The episode kicks off as Eva and Ben arrive on the cobbles, and Ben announces they now own the Rovers Return. Eva is stunned and wastes no time in heading in, with Susie and Ollie soon joining them in their new home.

Prior to her entering, we see the moment her nemesis Maria Connor spots her and is horrified to realise she's returned after seven years away. It's safe to say we can expect a catfight or two with this pair as their history runs deep.

"Maria shares a look of horror when she spots Eva," our source reveals. "The pair haven't seen each other for so long. Everything that happened with Aidan Connor will no doubt be revisited, and fans can expect some brilliant rivalry scenes for them in the future."

There's more drama in the episode too as Eva tries to reconnect sisters Leanne and Toyah Battersby after their feud over Nick Tilsley. But when Leanne goes to fetch Toyah to join her and Eva for a drink, she's rocked to see Nick proposing to her sibling.

What ensues next is carnage, as Eva is forced to step in when Toyah goes for Leanne back at the pub. "There's so much devastation still there between Toyah and Leanne at what could be a big moment for the former," reveals our soap source.

"Eva is hoping they bury the hatchet, but her getting involved could make things so much worse. She takes action, but will she manage to get the sisters bonding again?"

Elsewhere in the episode, Ben has a business proposition for his son Ollie as we see the characters interact. That's not all too, as soon the "mother-in-law from hell" Maggie Driscoll arrives, and she shocks Eva when she claims she is moving in.

"Maggie's entrance is another soap classic, and she could become a firm favourite with fans," our insider teased. "She's got everything it takes to be an iconic Corrie character, and her debut does not disappoint."
