Celebrity Traitors fans 'raging' as Alan Carr murders 'devastated' star in emotional exit

The BBC One show saw the Celebrity Traitors kill again in a face-to-face elimination - however, fans were left in tears as the 'devastated' star spoke out about their exit

Celia Imrie is the latest victim of the Celebrities Traitors in a murder in plain sight which shocked viewers - and left the actor “devastated”. The 73-year-old actor was killed off by Alan when he said the line “Parting is such sweet sorrow” from a William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet during a dinner party in the castle.

Fan favourite Celia was unaware she had been ‘murdered’ until she received a note the next day. After being given a branded note on a chair saying she had been murdered in plain sight, Celia said: “Oh, Lord, this is not a very good sign.

“Am I dead? Dear Celia, by order of the traitors, you have been murdered. Yesterday The traitors murdered you in plain sight. Oh, honestly! Just because I was brave enough to get the one traitor out. What a mean one.

“I love being here. It's been gorgeous, and I'm devastated. I so wanted to stay till the end, but it's a game.”

Alan Carr was again the Traitor to murder the celebrity. He said: “I should be good at it, you know, I've murdered Paloma in plain sight. I handed Lucy the death warrant. I'm really hoping Third time's a charm.”

He later added: “Yeah, last night was my second murder in plain sight. The first one was very secretive. I had Paloma alone in the kitchen. This one was a bit more, say, theatrical. It was out there. So I am a bit worried.”

Reacting to the news that she was gone, Joe Marler said: “I still can't believe it. I miss her already, my darling Celia is gone. My heart is broken. It's just made me want to get the traitors even harder.”

Fans have taken to social media to share their anger, with one writing: "CELIA SHE LOOKED SO SAD #CelebrityTraitors," alongside an emoji of a crying dog. Another wrote: "I'm genuinely gutted that Celia has gone..... #celebritytraitors."

A third wrote on X: "#CelebrityTraitors I am RAGING! Alan murdered Celia. Oh Alan, I think when this show ends, no one will look at you in the same way again."

Last night's episode saw Jonathan Ross become the first Traitor to be banished on the show, with the TV presenter calling his co-stars "idiots" before the big reveal. Beginning his dramatic exit speech, Jonathan said: "I’ve got no idea what everyone’s doing wrong.

"I can’t believe you’ve done it again. I can’t believe that I’m standing here for no good reason I don’t want to be rude but - you’re idiots!

I’m not judging, because it’s fiendish. I’m not blaming the players, I’m blaming the game."

“I am now, and have been all through the game, completely Faithful,” he insisted, as heads went into hands around the table, before he added: “To the Traitors!”
