For those looking to swap the frosty winter evenings for sun-soaked days, a holiday might be just what the doctor ordered.


The breathtaking Caribbean island of Barbados is a favourite among tourists, even if it's not the first place that comes to mind for a winter break. With direct flights from London, Barbados serves as the perfect winter escape from the short days and biting cold.


Often referred to as the Pearl of the Caribbean, this enchanting island is a haven for snorkelling, partying the night away or simply lounging on the beach with a riveting read. One of the highlights of Barbados is its consistently warm weather throughout the year.

With average highs hovering around 30C in March, it offers an instant respite from the chill for travellers hailing from the UK and Europe. What's more, visitors can practically bank on sunny skies in March as the country's rainy season doesn't kick in until July.
