Samsung error just exposed bad news for millions of Galaxy phone owners

Samsung has just revealed details about an upcoming event and it won't please anyone who has just splashed out on a new smartphone.

Anyone who has just bought a shiny new Samsung Galaxy device might not be thrilled to learn that something even better could be launching very soon. The Korean technology company recently posted an update on its Australian Newsroom that reveals it will be holding a major Unpacked event next month (July 2023) where it will show off its latest and greatest Z Flip and Z Fold smartphones. It was also revealed that the showcase will be taking place in Seoul, South Korea, for the very first time.

However, there's now a fair share of confusion about what's coming soon as this headline-grabbing post has since been taken down. It's unclear if the newsroom notice was uploaded too early by mistake or if some changes are currently being made to the upcoming timings. One thing that is almost certain is that an event is taking place on Samsung's home turf and the current lineup of bendable phones is about to look massively inferior.

There's no word about what updates will be coming next month but we think it's likely that things will be getting more powerful, thinner and lighter. The cover screen on the Galaxy Z Flip - which currently measures in at under 2 inches - could also get a boost which will make it larger and much easier to use.

The cameras will almost certainly get upgraded allowing them to snap better photos at night thanks to an improved low-light mode - we might even see a boost to the zoom capabilities as well.

If Samsung does hold an event in July it will be a dramatic change from the firm's normal launch cycle with its foldables usually getting updated during the month of August.

It's unclear why the announcement is being brought forward but it might have something to do with Samsung's rivals.

In recent months, a number of other tech firms, such as Oppo and Huawei, have launched devices that include bendable screens.

Google's new Pixel Fold and Motorola's latest Razr 40 Ultra are also both arriving this month and offer tempting features such as bigger screens and improved designs which could have some consumers thinking about making the switch away from Galaxy phones.

Full details about Samsung's Unpacked will hopefully be revealed soon but it seems now is a pretty bad time to invest in Galaxy Fold or Galaxy Flip as the next generation of devices are sure to be a whole lot better.

Mirror Online will bring you full news of the Samsung launch event once we hear more.
