Nintendo Switch games list: Zelda, Mario, Splatoon and other launch titles

Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Splatoon 2 and more are all here to enjoy

The Nintendo Switch console has been revealed in all its glory and with that has come a new games list and trailers.


The lead game at the console launch on 3 March will, to the relief of fans, be Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Also shown off at the event was the new Super Mario Odyssey game, Splatoon 2 and plenty more.


We've rounded up all the trailer videos so you can enjoy a sneak peak at what's to come for the Nintendo Switch.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild


Release date: 3 March


This will be the first Zelda game to offer an open world which allows gamers to choose when to tackle the tomb levels. Throw in those cel shaded graphics, a new storyline and plenty of old favourite characters and you've got yourself an ideal launch game for the new Nintendo Switch console.

Super Mario Odyssey


Release date: Holiday 2017

Super Mario Odyssey sees our famous friendly plumber back to take on Bowser and save Princess Peach. This time it's an open world of gaming fun and even features a section where Mario comes into the "real" world. If only it were coming sooner.

Splatoon 2


Release date: Summer 2017


Ink firing fanatics can be happy in the knowledge that a sequel to the famed multiplayer shooter is on its way. New weapons and levels are among the treats on offer as well as unique mobile multiplayer gaming thanks to the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers.

Arms


Release date: Spring 2017

A totally new game for the Nintendo Switch. This aptly named game lets you move your arms while holding the Joy-Con controllers to make the game character's virtual arms extend and punch to fight in the match. This should make for a workout disguised as fun much like the older Nintendo consoles offered.


Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Release date: 28 April


If it's not got a Mario Kart game it's not a real Nintendo console, right? So Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is due to bring new characters and modes to the Wii U game when it arrives in Deluxe form on the Nintendo Switch.

New characters include Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy from Splatoon as well as Mario-famed King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr.

Up to eight players will be able to play at once.

1-2 Switch

Release date: 3 March


This title is designed specifically for use with the Switch controllers for mini game fun. One sub-game includes a wild west style gun drawing game with real-world actions determining the victor.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2


Release date: TBC

Assume the role of a new hero to "seek out Elysium on an immense journey through a brand-new world". RPG fun with giant swords and fantasy immersion assured.

Nintendo Switch


Redout

Release date: Spring 2017

This sci-fi racer takes ideas from classics like WipEout, F-Zero and Rollcage. It's not quite the new F-Zero game everyone was waiting for but it still looks like really good fun.


Super Bomberman R

Release date: March 2017

Bomberman is back to laying bombs to take on the bad buys. This re-imagining for the Switch features photo-realistic graphics, a 3D stage and up to eight players at once.


Fire Emblem Warriors


Release date: TBC

Fire Emblem Warriors comes from Koei Tecmo, who worked with Nintendo on Hyrule Warriors before its 3DS and Wii U release in 2014.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim


Release date: TBC

This super addictive game has been remastered for the Nintendo Switch. That means you'll be able to go dragon hunting both at home and when out and about using the mobile console. Good luck fighting that addiction.

Sonic Mania


Release date: Spring 2017


Everyone's favourite blue hedgehog is back in 2D with gloriously high-paced gaming fun. New levels and moves as well as classic Sonic are combined for what should be a lot of fun.

Puyo Puyo Tetris


Release date: TBC


If Tetris and Puyo Puyo had a baby this is what you'd get. Expect fast-paced, multiplayer competitive fun that taxes the brain too.
