Carlos Alcaraz's opinion of Emma Raducanu and his honest girlfriend admission

Carlos Alcaraz has been linked with Emma Raducanu for a number of years but it seems the Spaniard may have moved on with a new love interest in his life

Carlos Alcaraz has brushed aside many questions about his love life throughout his tennis career, but it appears the Spaniard might now have a fresh love interest. The US Open champion frequently dismisses rumours about his private life away from the sport and has been candid about his dating situation.

The 22-year-old recently got put out of the Paris Masters in the last 32 to Britain's Cameron Norrie, suffering defeat in straight sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The six-time Grand Slam champion will now focus his efforts on the 2026 tennis campaign with fresh chances to enhance his major silverware collection arriving as early as January at the Australian Open.

Here, Mirror Sport has examined Alcaraz's remarks on his romantic life and speculation connecting him with fellow tennis player Emma Raducanu.

'Challenging' admission

Alcaraz revealed his personal struggles in 2024, confessing that finding someone to share affection with can be challenging due to his professional commitments. When questioned about his dating status, the young sensation told The Times: "No, I am single.

"I am looking for someone. It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time."

The 22-year-old included a playful "I hope so" when informed he wouldn't lack potential suitors, and it appears many noticed an odd coincidence in these remarks.

'Boyfriend ban' for alleged flame Raducanu

Emma Raducanu is often mentioned alongside fellow player Alcaraz, but not always for their on-court skills. There's been a flurry of speculation that the two might be more than just doubles partners, especially after they teamed up at the US Open.

Raducanu herself has had her own romantic hurdles to overcome. She revealed to The Times last year that her parents put a strict ban on dating as she was gearing up to become one of tennis' biggest stars.

She said: "My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training. When I was younger I wasn't even allowed to hang out with my girl friends.

"A lot of the time I was very resentful. But it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company."

However, despite the 'ban' likely being lifted now that Raducanu is an adult, it seems Alcaraz's affections may lie elsewhere.

Model girlfriend on his arm

Alcaraz is reportedly courting Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader. The social media sensation, who is six years his senior, dropped hints that she was at the US Open to cheer him on rather than Jannik Sinner - whom she was rumoured to be seeing at the time.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, the 28-year-old was quizzed about whether she had a soft spot for Sinner after being seen at the tournament. She said: "I don't think he was playing in that one. You're close, you're warm."

During Raising Cane's New York Fashion Week show, Grace Ann, Brooks' sister, spilled the beans on the couple's relationship. She said: "The rumours are true. Dating is such a loose term. But I do know he's the man of the hour."

Alcaraz and Raducanu remain 'just good friends'

With Alcaraz reportedly dating a model and Raducanu focusing on her career for the upcoming year, it appears that their close friendship may have been all there ever was between them. Prior to their mixed doubles match at the US Open, the British tennis star clarified the nature of her relationship with Alcaraz.

She said: "It is nice and I think, for all of us, we really value those connections that we had from when we were young. Because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age and because that's a real genuine connection, because it becomes very busy and you have a lot more friends - but the ones that you've known for a long time mean a lot more to you.

"I remember he beat Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round and it was like a big win, his breakout win on a big stage and it was really cool to kind of go through that tournament together. We have a good relationship still. He's obviously overtaken me a lot, but it's nice we have that from a while ago."
