Max Verstappen soars up rich list with huge new net worth as Liverpool star missing

Max Verstappen's net worth has increased by almost £44million in the last year, with the Red Bull Racing driver now among the richest people in the Netherlands

Max Verstappen's estimated fortune has increased by nearly £44million in the past year, bringing his total net worth to just under £230million. The Red Bull Racing driver has climbed the ranks of Quote 500, a list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, moving up to 264th place from 322nd last year.

Despite turning 28 in late September, Verstappen remains the youngest person on the list, a title he has held since his debut in 2022. At that time, he was the youngest ever to make the list, a record that still stands three years on.

The Belgium-born Dutchman initially entered as the 500th person, with a net worth just over £105million, which was the cut-off that year. Since then, Verstappen's rise through the ranks has been swift, reaching the 428th spot a year later and then leaping up 106 places last year.

The entry threshold for this year's list is just under £123million. One notable name not making the cut is Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.

Forbes ranked Verstappen as the world's 25th highest-paid athlete this year, with earnings just short of £59million. The bulk of this comes from his salary and winnings, with £4.5million coming from endorsements.

However, Lewis Hamilton sits higher at 22nd on that list, with earnings just above £60million. Despite his salary and winnings being significantly lower, at just over £45million, endorsements of £15million push him ahead of Verstappen.

Back in January, the Daily Mail reported that Aston Martin was willing to offer Verstappen a staggering £750million deal to cover the rest of his career. The Dutchman's response at the time was: "it's a lot of money", before adding, "honestly, when I read that, it was the first time that I saw something like that."

He has since confirmed he will remain with Red Bull next season, having signed a contract in 2022 that extends until 2028. Reports at the time claimed the deal was worth around £40 million per season.
