EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd's forgotten man sees two clubs step forward to give him January transfer

Manchester United have Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha as Ruben Amorim's preferred central striking options this season, with Dutch international Joshua Zirkzee on the outside looking in

Sevilla have joined the race to hand Joshua Zirkzee an escape from his Manchester United hell - with new West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo considering a loan move to bolster his ailing attack.

Zirkzee will ask to leave United in the January transfer window. And the Dutch striker will not be short of offers, despite becoming a huge flop at United.

The Spanish giants are keeping close tabs on Zirkzee's situation, and are keen to hand him a lifeline. New boss Matias Almeyda is in the process of overhauling his squad, and is desperate to add more firepower to his attacking options.

And Almeyda reckons Zirkzee's game is more suited to La Liga.

Zirkzee has endured a tough spell at United since joining them from Bologna for £34m when Erik ten Hag was still in charge.

The 24-year-old scored just seven goals in 49 appearances last season, and has had just four outings this time round after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

United boss Ruben Amorim has decided Zirkzee will not be part of his long term plans. Big-money Benjamin Sesko is going to be United's first-choice long-term, but Matheus Cunha can also play as the attacking focal point and is ahead of Zirzkee in the pecking order - a move which allows Mason Mount, a player Amorim really likes, to get into the starting lineup.

Zirkzee is desperate to be included in the Netherlands squad for next summer's World Cup, and knows he has to be playing regularly to stand a chance of getting picked.
