Ryan Giggs' brother to marry again 14 years on from his ex-wife and Man Utd icon's affair
Rhodri Giggs is set to remarry, 14 years after his brother and Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs, admitted to having an affair with his ex-wife
Rhodri Giggs is set to remarry, 14 years on from his brother's crushing affair with his ex-wife. The 49-year-old has been dating Victoria Phillips for over a year now, and popped the big question earlier this month.
He and his new beau went public with their engagement via Instagram earlier this week, with Victoria posting a photo of her sparkling ring while writing: "18/10/2025." Rhodri, then quipped: "Couldn't say yes quicker enough. Thank you everyone, I agree she is very lucky."
The couple received plenty of loving messages after the announcement, including from Coronation Street star Andy Whyment, who wrote: "Congratulations to you both."
It's not the first time that Rhodri's love life has made headlines. Back in 2011, it was revealed that his brother, Ryan Giggs, had been having an affair with his wife at the time, Natasha. The affair, which dated back to 2003, caused a major rift in the Giggs family, and ultimately ended in Rhodri and Natasha divorcing.

Despite the infidelity, Rhodri has since gone on to make amends with his brother, even admitting that he profited from it.
Replying to a social media user about the affair, Rhodri wrote, as per GB News, earlier this year: "Mate, it was over 14 years ago and I've got two kids with someone else and made s*** load of money from it."
He added: "I buzz off it. It was 14 years ago and I made about £1million from it. Can't be on X and not expect a little bit of shrapnel coming your way. All part of the fun."
Rhodri, who currently runs a podcast and works in recrutiment, gained noterierty when the affair came to light in 2011. Gigg's younger brother had also had a career in football in the lower leagues, representing the likes of Salford and FC United before moving into coaching and eventually stepping away from the sport.
The news of Rhodri's engagement comes hot on the heels of Giggs' younger brother slamming the Premier League's decision not to include his brother in a shortlist of inductees into the Hall of Fame last month. Taking to social media, the Premier League wrote: "Home of the greats. Two more players will be voted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2025..."
And after seeing Ryan's name absent from the list, Rhodri fired back with a compilation of Giggs' heroics with Manchester United, writing: "13 Premier League medals and countless goals and the record number of Premier League assists. #TheShamHallOfFame."
While Giggs didn't make the shortlist, a number of his former United team-mates did, including Patrice Evra, Teddy Sheringham, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic, Edwin van der Sar and Michael Owen. Elsewhere, Sol Campbell, Jermain Defoe, Cesc Fabregas, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Eden Hazard, David Silva and Yaya Toure completed the list.
In the end, it was Neville and Hazard who made the cut for induction, with the Premier League sharing of the latter on Wednesday: "Eden Hazard, this is where you belong. Welcome to the Premier League Hall of Fame."
