Man Utd news: Ruben Amorim hit with new demand as £50m spend starts paying dividends
All the latest news from Manchester United ahead of their next match in the Premier League
Fresh off the back of beating Liverpool in the Premier League, Manchester United will be full of confidence going into their home fixture against Brighton this weekend. There are two away games against Nottingham Forest and Spurs in the next three outings, so a win at home could provide a springboard to kickstart their season.
United's recent record against Spurs and Forest isn't too good, though, and Ruben Amorim will be hoping to swiftly stop the trend. Brighton also present a big challenge, having won on each of their last three visits to Old Trafford. Nevertheless, United have struggled with consistency so far this season and a result against their biggest rival is certainly the motivation they need to get the ball rolling.
There is another international break in November and Amorim will be hoping his team can gain momentum before club football is halted again. Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest news coming out of Old Trafford.
Icon makes Ruben Amorim demand
United icon Dwight Yorke is urging Amorim to make a change to his team ahead of the next game against Brighton. Despite the big win against Liverpool, Yorke thinks that new signing Benjamin Sesko should be starting.
"I think Benjamin Sesko needs to be Manchester United’s starting striker," Yorke told Esports Bets. "We’ve seen the likes of Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha play in the position this season.

I think he’s a fabulous player and works extremely hard.
"He’s playing in a team that isn’t scoring as regularly as they want, so there’s going to be times where he’ll find it tough going, but I think United should stick with him because he’s the best option for them in that position."
£50m spend paying dividends
United players made the most of the facilities at the new Carrington training base following their win over Liverpool, reports MailOnline, vindicating the club's £50m renovation.
Six or seven players spent time in the ice baths, hot tubs and saunas after the game in order to aid their recovery, having just beaten Liverpool away from home for the first time in a decade.
Players arrived at Carrington at 11.30am for a pre-match meal and team meeting and didn't return there until 9.30pm. However, players chose to make the most of the facilities available.
Those who played on Sunday had a light gym session and recovery on Monday, with those who didn't having more of a tough challenge on the pitch.
Ronaldo tipped for reunion
Cristiano Ronaldo could be set for a reunion with United. The football legend re-joined the Red Devils in 2021 but left in 2022 in negative circumstances, having fallen out with former manager Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo could now be reunited with United in a very different way. Reports suggest that the Premier League club could be in line to face the Portuguese legend's current club Al-Nassr in a mid-season friendly.
Speaking about the proposed reunion, former United assistant McCarthy told Best Betting Sites: "I think the manner that he left, it wasn't a fitting manner for such an unbelievable, world-class player of his stature.
"So if that is the case that United get to play against Al Nassr, it will be a nice way for him as well to reconnect with the club that he's achieved so much with and the club that put him on the map in world football.
"It would [also] be a nice way for him to say goodbye to his team-mates. Because I know for a fact after that interview dropped he just left and we never saw him again.
"He never got to say goodbye to the players, to his team-mates and to the technical staff that was there. But this might give him a proper opportunity to reunite with the United faithful again. And the fans that will be there will give him a nice farewell, because that's what he deserves for what he's achieved at the club."
