Ange Postecoglou makes final Celtic return decision after brutal Forest sacking
Ange Postecoglou has been linked with an emotional return to Celtic following the exit of former Liverpool and Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers and the Australian has now made a call on his future
Ange Postecoglou will NOT be returning to Celtic despite being linked with a move back to Scotland. The Australian was mentioned as a potential replacement for Brendan Rodgers following his resignation.
And a move back to Celtic would have seen Postecoglou handed a swift return to the dugout after his spell at Nottingham Forest was brutally ended after just 39 days. But it appears that the 60-year-old will not return any time soon.
As per The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou wants to take time out of football following his disastrous stint at the City Ground. He will now reportedly take time to consider his next move, with a switch back to Celtic Park described as a ‘non-starter’.
Postecoglou enjoyed huge success with the Scottish giants during his prior spell after taking the reins from Neil Lennon. He lifted five major trophies during his time with Celtic - a record that includes two league titles, the Scottish Cup and two Scottish FA Cups.
Since then, Postecoglou has had a spell with Tottenham where he won the Europa League before getting sacked. He was then appointed by Forest as a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo but lasted just over a month before being brutally dismissed by owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Former boss Martin O’Neill has been placed in interim charge for now.
"Nervous excitement," the 73-year-old said when asked about his emotions at returning to the club. "I obviously want to do as well as I can. I'm looking forward to it - I think.
"This is a role where they're looking for a permanent manager. At this minute, I've been called in to do the job. Interim manager at this point - and that's the way it will remain.

"I didn't need to be told what's required. I got a call late afternoon, early evening from Dermot Desmond [Celtic's largest shareholder]. He said Brendan had resigned.
"People had been taken aback by that. I assumed nothing would happen until the end of the season for anybody. I was asked if I'd come in and hold proceedings until they found a permanent manager. I had 10 minutes to make up my mind, which I did."
Celtic have had a miserable start to the season and already find themselves eight points behind league leaders Hearts. The club also failed to qualify for the Champions League under Rodgers’ watch having been beaten by Kazakh side Kairat in the playoffs.
Their first win in the Europa League came earlier this month with a slender 2-1 success against ten-man Sturm Graz.
