Adorable orphaned elephants' reaction to their milk arriving melts animal fans' hearts

The workers at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust documented the hilarious yet adorable moment the baby elephants realised the milk van arrived as they rushed to get bottle fed

Is there truly anything cuter than baby animals? Or baby animals eating, to be more precise. Not when you ask the workers at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, who have documented baby elephants' rushing to get fed.

The adorable elephants the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya clearly take their meal times seriously. Each of the babies at the Wildlife Trust has been rescued from a life-threatening situation and is now being lovingly cared for by the dedicated keepers at the Trust. And just like human babies, they get excited for their mealtimes. This was proven by the trust workers, who have documented what it looks like when it's time to feed the baby elephants.

While these elephants had a tragic start to their lives, as they're all orphaned and being taken cared off by the trust workers, they're clearly enjoying their time together.

In a recent video shared on Instagram, several of the baby elephants take off running at the sound of the milk truck approaching.

Toto and Natibu quickly start running, competing against each other in a playful race to see who can get there first. Despite having longer legs, Natibu comes in second, though technically both boys were a few steps behind the true winner: Korbessa. When it comes to food, this precious girl wastes no time—and she’s almost always the first to arrive.

Natibu also pauses to say hello to the camera, giving us an incredible close-up of his sweet face before continuing down the path to his bottle. He moves in close to Toto, and thanks to the impressive multitasking skills of Keeper Jonas, both boys finish their bottles in a matter of seconds.

"For Toto and Natibu, every meal is a race to the milk! This afternoon, Toto trundled in just ahead of his leggier friend, then both boys enjoyed their bottles side by side — thanks to some multitasking by Keeper Jonas!" they wrote in the caption of the post.

The post went on to explain: "They don’t even try to beat Korbessa, who always steams in far ahead of anyone else. Meanwhile, the fourth member of the Kaluku Quartet, Mwinzi, arrives long after everyone has finished their meals — he is a cool customer and refuses to be rushed!

The comment section soon filled with responses from viewers, many of which could relate to the elephants' food race.

"When they run like that, it's lunch time," one viewer said, while a second user wrote: "I also race to my food, I love having something in common with these sweet babies."

A third person shared: "I have the slurping sound saved on my phone so I can listen to it whenever I need a Zen moment!”

"I understand this level of ‘hangriness.” Food, I need food!" a fourth person said.

"Watching baby elephants run is one of the most adorable things ever," someone else said. Another user wrote: "As much as I love the elephants, I also love the pure joy I hear in the laughs and giggles in the videos at the elephant shenanigans."
