Hero kids save dad after man with 'demonic stare' launches horror road rage attack
Chris Davison, 38, was driving his daughter, 6, and son, 8, to a Halloween event when a black pickup truck began to tailgate him - and the driver allegedly forced him off the road
A brave dad, who was brutally stabbed by a man with a "demonic stare" in an apparent road rage incident, has praised his two young children for saving his life.
Chris Davison, 38, was taking his six year old daughter and eight year old son to a Halloween event on October 17 when he claimed a black pickup truck started tailgating him. The aggressive driver reportedly forced him off California State Route 67 twice while revving his engine and following Davison for several miles.
Davison revealed that both men exited their vehicles the second time the truck driver revved his engine. The man, who had a "demonic stare", suddenly launched a knife attack on Davison, stabbing him multiple times in front of his terrified children still in the car.
"As I lifted my arm up like this to block my head, he stabbed right here multiple times," Davison recounted, according to KGTV. "It left my side open and he proceeded to stab me multiple times."
He added that the man drove away leaving him bleeding heavily, reports the Mirror US.
"I'm asking my son, 'Please, find some tape, find anything. You had a dinosaur sticker,' which we got from the grocery store," Davison said. "Once he realised it's not enough, that's when he went through the vehicle, front to back, find anything, and he found my phone charger cord."
His quick-thinking children used their sweaters to help stem the bleeding, he said. His daughter, dressed in her Halloween costume, tried to flag down passing drivers for help.
"In a princess dress, hanging out the car, yelling for somebody to please stop," Davison said.
A mate of Davison's who was on a motorbike spotted the commotion and stopped to lend a hand, cleaning off a blood-soaked mobile and dialling 999. It reportedly took 27 minutes for paramedics to arrive after the incident. By some miracle, the stab wounds missed Davison's vital organs, allowing him to survive despite his serious injuries.
"I'm forever grateful that I'm here to hug and kiss them and tuck them in every night," Davison said about his children.
The suspect, Noah Kane, was nicked the next day by San Diego County authorities. He has reportedly pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder.
By Thursday, a GoFundMe for Davison had nearly reached its £3,800 ($5,000) target, raising almost £3,000 ($4,000) to cover his medical bills, lost earnings during recovery and basic needs for his family.
