Baby trapped under overturned car after crash as video shows heart-wrenching rescue
Dramatic body camera footage shows an officer and other motorists lifting the car to rescue the child. The baby was pinned under the vehicle but was eventually pulled to safety
Police have issued an update after a mother and her child had been thrown from their car during an accident.
The baby is anticipated to make a full recovery after being rescued from beneath the overturned vehicle, according to authorities who released a dramatic video of the rescue effort on a busy motorway.
The police were called to the scene on Thursday morning following reports that a mother and her child had been thrown from their car during the accident.

Body camera footage shared by the Fort Worth Police Department on social media on Friday shows an officer sprinting towards the flipped car and beginning to search for the child, while a distraught woman can be heard in the background screaming for her baby.
The officer rallied other drivers who had stopped at the scene to assist him in lifting the car.
"Under here, we need to move the car," the officer instructs them, believing the child to be trapped underneath, reports the Mirror US.
"Keep moving, keep moving," he encourages them as the car is raised just enough for him to grasp the child's leg and pull it to safety.
Initially, the child was unresponsive, but one officer reported feeling a pulse. They tried to get the baby to breathe, with one officer using his fingers to press on the child's chest.
Eventually, the baby began to make noises and then started to cry. Both the mother and child are expected to make a full recovery, according to the police.
"Although this video may be extremely difficult to watch, it is an important example of the kinds of situations that our police officers may come across while performing their duties," the department stated in its post.
In a social media post, Police Chief Eddie Garcia referred to the child as a "little angel" and commended the officers for their bravery. The department also expressed gratitude towards the citizens who halted to assist with the rescue.
The post concluded: "We are beyond proud of the life saving actions performed by Sgt. Nichols and Officer Bounds for their bravery and quick response to this terrible scene. We are also grateful to the Fort Worth citizens who saw someone in danger and, without hesitation, assisted our officers."
