Woman wins seven-figure EuroMillions prize after she's pooed on by a seagull
The unnamed woman from Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales, beat the odds when she won the massive prize in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on Friday the 13th, an 'unlucky' day
A woman from south Wales has scooped a massive £1 million after investing in an old wives tale when a seagull did "their business" on her.
The woman from Rhondda Cynon Taff bagged the massive prize in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on Friday, June 13.She routinely purchases a ticket for the EuroMillions each month, but after being pooed on by a seagull whilst out shopping, she decided to test her luck with an additional ticket.
She, along with 12 other winners, claimed the million pound prize. After collecting her winnings, the Welsh woman, who has not been named, plans to spend it on a new car and a house, reports Wales Online.
She said: "Winning on The National Lottery finally gives us a great sense of financial stability... for that I thank the seagull!". Along with the Welsh woman, five people in the UK won an outstanding shared prize of £18,069,435 on a day that is typically considered unlucky, Friday 13th.
It comes after an overjoyed dad unveiled plans to celebrate an unforgettable 60th birthday after a one-in-a-million lottery win. John Parker matched the UK Millionaire Maker code, a match worth a cool £1m, in the EuroMillions draw on July 8.
With John’s win coming just a couple of months before he turns 60, he and partner Lisa Beal, 47, of County Durham, will have a birthday bash to remember.
The dad-of-two said: “I have been planning my birthday party at our local pub for a while now, as I always knew I wanted all my friends and family in one room to help me celebrate.
"But winning means that we can go even bigger and even better. Drinks are on me.”
Recalling the moment he found out that he was a brand-new millionaire, he explained: “I checked my National Lottery account after getting an email to say I had won something in the draw.
"At first, I was confused though as my balance was exactly the same as before, £2.80. I checked again and saw that I had in fact won £1M! I really couldn’t believe it and I just kept checking.”
John headed straight to the pub immediately after it had started to sink in that he was a millionaire. He said: “My local is pretty much next door to where I live so my excitement was still at fever pitch in the few minutes it took me to get to the pub after realising that I had won."
