An eyewitness said that five dogs who 'attacked' the man were 'Bullies and Staffys', reports Glasgow Live.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.05pm on Friday, 19 September, 2025 we received a report of a group of dogs setting upon a man and his dog in Bogleshole Road, Cambuslang. Officers attended and a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection.

"A 65-year-old man attended hospital for treatment and his dog was taken to a veterinary practice. The 27-year-old is will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal."

It comes after a woman was seen biting a pitbull after she had been pulled to the floor and tried to save her dog during the attack. Shirley Pasamanick, 69, told how she was walking her 14-year-old dog Sparky in Orlando, Florida, on September 1, when the pitbull suddenly went for them.

Footage shows the moment at Plaza Tropical Supermarket when the aggressive pitbull tried to get at Shirley’s dog and she fell to the ground while trying to hold onto the lead. She was screaming for help as she attempted to stop the attack, and tried to separate the dogs when the pitbull sunk its teeth into her pet.

Shirley said she was using her cane to beat away the dog, and then tried to force open the pitbull’s mouth - but being unable to do so, she bit the animal.

And after the attack she said she was “shaking for days”. She stated: "I had my cane, I started beating him with the cane." When the pit bull kept attacking Sparky, Shirley came up with a more desperate idea - she decided to bite the dog.
