Grandma has people in tears after grandson reveals he's taking her to Disneyland

After she suffered an 'unkind year', Henry Calvert took it upon himself to take his grandma, Baba - who is in her 80s - to Disneyland Paris, and it's safe to say there wasn't a dry eye in the house

A man who surprised his grandma with a surprise holiday to Disneyland Paris has shared footage of the moment he told her where they were going - and her reaction was priceless. Henry Calvert took to TikTok, admitting you are "never too old for a bit of Disney magic" after gran, Baba, appeared quite literally gobsmacked.

"She means the absolute world to me and has been there throughout every stage of my life and I always dreamed of going to Disneyland with her," he explained. As Baba got older and her mobility worsened to the point of needing a wheelchair to get around, Henry worried the dream would never become a reality.

Thankfully, however, he persevered as he declared in his clip: "Screw that! We're doing it anyway."

Henry and Baba headed to the resort in resort in Marne-la-Vallée on the outskirts on the French capital and there was another surprise for the grandparent as her son, John - Henry's uncle - appeared too.

First though, the trio whetted their appetites for Mickey Mouse and co with a trip to see The Lion King musical at London's Lyceum Theatre. "Baba was in her element, before I met all of my friends," Henry gushed as they took the Eurostar.

"This is what life is all about," he continued alongside a clip of Baba donning Mickey ears whilst being pushed around the theme parks in a wheelchair. "Spending time with my nearest and dearest at one my most favourite places on earth... it felt like a dream."

Henry said that whilst he may only be 23 and Baba is in her 80s, it "generally felt like he was playing with her as a five-year old again".

The pair could be seen taking in Cars and Star Wars attractions as well as meeting characters such as Rafiki from The Lion King, as an emotional Henry acknowledged: "This year has not been kind to Baba and my family, but seeing her smile and spread joy and connect with others like I know she always has felt like things were mending a little."

He poignantly added that "where his grandad is" now, he will be happy to know Baba is "surrounded by good people" and is "smiling, dancing and playing like she always has".

"Knowing that, and knowing that I'm making him proud means more to me than anything ever will," Henry said. "One of the greatest gifts as an adult is being able to give back to those that helped raise you as a kid."

The sweet video prompted hundreds of TikTok users to respond - including Disneyland Paris itself - which wrote: "Thank you for your visit! She clearly had the best time ever."

One person shared their Disneyland Paris memories: "This is so lovely, we took my mum in 2022 after many family trips there. She was in a wheelchair and struggling but loved it so much! She passed away in August this year, I have such special memories of Disneyland Paris."

A second commented: "I took my Aunty Carol when she was 85 it was her first time at Disneyland Paris and she never stopped talking about it after. So glad I filmed her for a vlog series because she passed age 90."

Whilst a third shared their story: "I wish I could take my nan back to Disneyland one last time, alas she is bed bound now and her memory is shot.

"But gosh does she still have so much Disney joy and magic around her. Her Mickey and Minnie sit pride of place in the room and my dad did her a picture blanket of us kids and him with the characters for her to see all the time even when we can’t be there."
