Born on January 19, 1963, in London, England, Bashir has had a diverse career in journalism, working for various media outlets.
One of his most famous interviews was with Princess Diana in 1995, where she candidly discussed her personal life, struggles, and the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles. The interview, conducted for the BBC program Panorama, drew widespread attention and controversy. An independent investigation commissioned by the BBC concluded that Bashir used deceptive tactics to obtain the interview, and he subsequently resigned from his position at the BBC in May 2021.
