The Covid Inquiry will examine how the government handled the coronavirus pandemic

The public inquiry has been set up and is being funded by the government to examine an issue of public concern.

It is being led by Baroness Heather Hallett, who is a retired judge, who previously led the inquiry into the 7/7 London bombings.

Hearings are expected to last until 2025 and it has ben split into three parts - the decision to delay lockdown, the move to abandon testing in the community and the approach to care homes.
