The Cambridge engineering graduate spent 26 years as the numbers whizz on Countdown.

The host of the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain awards, she has become more glamorous over the years - and even beat Pippa Middleton to be named Rear of the Year in 2011.

Carol began work as a civil engineer before her mum saw an advert looking for a maths expert for Countdown. She qualified as a pilot in 2014.

She has been a host of Loose Women, Lorraine and BBC and LBC radio shows, and appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.
